New state-of-the-art gym and soccer hub, St. George’s Park Westfield to officially open
St. George’s Park Westfield will officially open its doors to the public on 18th September, boasting a state-of-the-art fitness facility alongside world class football facilities. The site will be operated by the charitable trust Leisure United, in partnership with The FA, Sheffield City Council, Sport England and Pulse Soccer as the strategic leisure development partner.
With experience in operating finically sustainable soccer facilities, Pulse Soccer advised the FA on the addition of a state-of-the-art 100 station gym and two group fitness studios at third facility in order to make the site a success. The addition of the new gym will ensure additional commercial revenue to make the site financially viable and sustainable.
The FA has appointed Pulse Fitness, the dedicated equipment arm of the Pulse Group, to design the new gym and to supply and install equipment from its latest CV and Strength lines. The Pulse Fitness team will kit out the gym with an extensive free-weights area and a bespoke functional training rig.
The facility will offer a packed time table of group exercise classes as well as casual pay and play football sessions, regular 5 a-side, 7 a-side and 11 a-side football leagues. Under the advice of Pulse Soccer and to encourage more people to play football at a grassroots level, Leisure United will be running regular junior football leagues and sessions, ladies only football sessions as well as disability sessions and walking football.
Pulse Solutions, the dedicated business support arm, has been appointed by operator Leisure United to be responsible for all sales and marketing of the facility. Pulse Solutions has also been responsible for all brand development, ensuring that the new gym’s branding is in keeping with the St. George’s Park branding.
Pulse Soccer already acts as the strategic leisure development partner to the FA, Sheffield City Council and Leisure United at two other facilities in Sheffield, St. George’s Park Graves and St. George’s Park Thorncliffe. Both sites have seen immense success which Pulse Soccer will be looking to emulate at this new facility with the addition of a state-of-the-art gym.
“We are really excited to be opening this new facility in partnership with the FA, Sheffield City Council and Leisure United,” says Warren Ormrod, Director of Soccer for The Pulse Group. “We’ve already seen some fantastic success at our other two sites, with more people getting involved in football at a grassroots level and the new gym will be a fantastic edition to the local community. We are delighted to have been appointed by the FA as their preferred kit supplier on this project and look forward to supporting them on this journey.”
St. George’s Park Westfield is the third instalment as part of a new scheme from the FA, ‘The Parklife Project’, which aims to get more people involved in football at a grassroots level, underpinned by high quality financially sustainable facilities.
